You say you want a resolution...

My New Year's Resolution for this year was based on my sister's friend Mary's blog or Facebook (can't remember...all the technology runs together) which at some point said, "2009-Year of makin' it happen." I decided that rather than choose few specific goals, I would just make myself do the things I always talk about doing, but never get around to, either out of fear or laziness. Thus far I have...

-gotten a tattoo

-dyed my hair a crazy color (purple, to be specific)

-signed up to run a 5k

-joined a lifegroup to get more involved at church, which also qualifies as joining a book club, since we're reading Flannery O'Connor.

I am also planning on taking surfing lessons this summer (which terrifies me, to be honest). What else? If you can think of something you've heard me say I'd like to do, call me out and unless it is ridiculously expensive, I'm goin' for it. Life is short, man. (Apparently a hippie typed that last sentence. But a smart hippie, who knows what he's talking about).

  2. That's a really good New Year's resolution. I think it's good to resolve to put your money where your mouth is, rather than just blather about even more stuff you're going to do in this year that you're never really going to get to. Also, I want to know what your tattoo is. A full-body tattoo of Andy Griffith on your back?

And when I comment on Erin's blogs, I often am tickled by the word verification, and tell her what they are. So let me exclaim with glee that your very "tinaness" satisfies me.

  3. Hm...I want a tattoo, but I don't know what, so I think "making it happen" this year could be a very bad idea.

But I have started to learn crochet and the guitar. So...maybe I'll make a few things happen.

Hey, I was just talking about you with my sister Hannah and it reminded me how much I miss you, how funny you are, and how I envy your laissez faire approach to life. Love you.

  4. Aw, thanks Rachel. I miss you too, hope Colorado treats you well...I think my laissez faire attitude is being tested right now, so I'll try to hang on to it. : )

And Natalie, my tattoo says, "faith hope love" and it's on my left forearm...I'll try to post a picture soon. The kids LOVED the hair and they think the tattoo is cool too. : )
